More than just a place to stay
Settlers Rest Cottage is the closest farmstay to Perth -- an idyllic rural escape less than 20 minutes from the airport. Nestled amongst the vineyards of the Swan Valley, the cottage immerses guests in a tranquil Australian country lifestyle.
Corinne and Ron acquired the property in 1988, when their eldest daughter was one year old. The 14-acre site, originally a fully operational vineyard, had changed hands many times and featured a farmhouse dating back to the early 1900s along with the original sheds. A modern residence was later built nearby. Recognising the property's potential, Corinne and Ron restored the settlers' cottage and established one of Swan Valley's earliest accommodation venues -- introducing the first farmstay in the Perth metropolitan area.
Motivated by their love of nature, farm animals, and the rhythm of rural life, they wanted to share that with other families. Since opening on Valentine's Day in 1998, Settlers Rest has been a preferred farmstay for international visitors and Western Australian families alike. Corinne and Ron continue to welcome guests, offering the chance to experience nature and authentic farm life.
Families are encouraged to step away from daily routines and enjoy nature's simplicity. Switch off the phones, settle in, and let the kids loose in the kind of space that only a working farm can offer.
